Craft Fantastic Gifts for Mom's and Grandmother's

Hi everybody! Kim here from My Kraft Kloset sharing a personalized piece of jewelry I made using  Craft Fantastic products, my scrapbooking supplies, and another special collage technique I made for my kids Grandmother.  As Mother’s Day is fast approaching on May 14th and you too have time to try this fantastic technique for all the special ladies in your life.

Let’s get started:

1.  Choose your images. I picked this colorful plaid patterned paper, two layered heart images, and the word “grandmother” (as shown above). To create this personalized collage.

2.  Cut out the word “grandmother” from the image sheet, add a few Craft Fantastic Glaze & Glue droplets onto the back and adhere it to a piece of plaid patterned paper. Press gently to lay flat and remove any excess glue with a Q-tip. Let dry for a minute.

 3. Next I chose two images that had similar sized hearts from the Valentines image sheet. That's right, re-purposed images from other holidays. Cut one heart out completely and the second image I cut out in a square (as shown above).

4.  Add a few Craft Fantastic Glaze & Glue droplets onto the heart images and adhere together. Press gently to lay flat and remove any excess glue with a Q-tip. Let dry for a minute.  Add some sparkly diamond glitter glue to parts of the flowers. Let dry for a few minutes.

5.  Add several Craft Fantastic Glaze & Glue droplets onto the back of an extra large glass circle and glue together. Move your glass around to position your image, add a little pressure to get any bubbles out, and make sure the surface is completely covered. Hold in place for a couple minutes to set in place. Let dry for a few minutes.

6.  Once dry, use a Q-tip to remove any excess glue around the edges of the glass. Cut around the edges of the glass and cut out the image.

7.  Next I chose this stunning extra large silver tray pendant for my image to sit in. Added five Fantastic Jewelers Dots to hold the extra large glass in place, peel off red backing, place the glass into the tray, and press down all over to secure in place. Add a neck chain to complete your gift and voila! Another stunning collage piece that is super special for our Grandmother’s, Mom’s, and any special lady for Mother’s Day on Sunday, May 14th. And you can too! This took less than an hour to put together, once I decided on the images and layout.

I hope I’ve inspired you to try these wonderful Craft Fantastic products along with your paper crafting supplies. Because the possibilities are truly endless!  So think about giving this hobby a try and make a gift that is uniquely handmade for any occasion. Hello Scrapbookers!!!

Does this look familiar?  It looks like a crop to me!  If not, well a crop is a gathering of people who bring their photos, memorabilia, embellishments, paper and create layouts for their scrapbooks.  These crops happen all the time and they are loads of creative fun.

So why may you ask am I talking about scrapbooking crops?  Because I have some really fun gift ideas for someone you crop with or just someone you know who is into scrapbooking. Or this could be a fun project for whenever your group gets together. (FYI I have no idea who these people are...lol ).

I picked some images I liked from the Crop Gals Image Sheet, used the MEDIUM SQUARE PENDANT TRAY silver, affixed them with a sticky dot and placed them on a 30" silver rolo chain.

I then found some fun retro scrapbook paper and will give them as gifts for all my scrapbooking friends.  Quick and easy and I'm pretty sure any fellow crafty gal will love them!!!!

Supplies used in this post are as follows:

Crop Gals Image Sheet
Medium Square Pendant Tray silver
medium glass squares
Fantastic Glaze and Glue
Fantastic Sticky Dots
30" silver rolo chain

Make sure to visit Craft Fantastic for all these supplies and keep checking this blog for new ideas!!

Create a Necklace Using Nail Polish

Hello everyone!!  Kymona here from Kreative Kymona to show you how to create a necklace using nail polish.

OMG, when my daughter and I was at the Scrapbook Expo last year, Craft Fantastic demo how to add nail polish to the glass and create a necklace.

Take a look at my necklaces:

Take a look at what I used to create my necklaces:

I picked up these nail polishes from the 99 cents store around the corner from my house.  I didn't want to spend an arm and a leg for nail polish that will be used strictly for crafting.  Surprisingly enough they had really cute colors.

I love how these colors turned out.  One has glitter with the blue-silver nail polish and the other is just the blue-silver nail polish.

The glitter necklace is for my daughter. She asked me to add the heart at the bottom of the necklace.

The blue-silver necklace is going to one of my writing partners for this month.

So do you want to know how I add the nail polish to the glass?  I simple painted it on.  LOL!! Yes, I painted the glass as if it was a nail I was working on.

Once the nail polish dried I added a second coat.  For the glitter necklace I painted the glitter first then added the blue-silver nail polish.

To see more of this technique, Cheryl created a fantastic post 2 years on how to do this.  You can read that post here

So what do you think?  Would you pull out your nail polish and create a necklace? Please let me know below.  I would love to hear from you!!

Mother's Day Gift Idea With Craft Fantastic

Hi All! Today I am bringing you a Mother's Day Gift Idea. I have made many wonderful pieces for my mom over the years with Craft Fantastic and this year will be no exception. For this project I am using ALPHABET#1 Image Sheet, Tiny Glass Rounds, Tiny Round Link Trays, Small Jump Rings, Lobster Clasp, Multipurpose Jewelry Pliers, Fantastic Sticky Dots, Fantastic Glaze & Glue, and a scissor and qtips.

To begin I trimmed out the letters from the image sheet to spell out GRANDMA.

Next I put one dot in the center of the flat side of the glass with Glaze & Glue and carefully placed over each letter. While the glue was still wet I made sure that the letters were centered within the glass before that moment when the glue really grabs on to the glass.

Next I trimmed around the letters.

The next step was to place the Sticky Dots into the Tiny Round Link Trays. Now I did cut down the Sticky Dots because they are the same size or even slightly bigger than the surface of the Tiny Trays. Then I attached the glass to the trays.

Add small jump rings to connect the trays as well as using a small jump ring to attach the Lobster Clasp and a small jump ring to use as the other end of the bracelet for the clasp.
Now a few sizing notes. My Mom has tiny wrists and this size is perfect for her. If you need to make the bracelet longer you can do several things. First, I used seven trays. You could use more trays which will add length. Second, I used one small jump ring to connect the trays. You could also use more, but use either one, three, or five between links so that the bracelet will lay correctly. I also used a small jump ring for the Loop to be used with the Lobster Clasp. The large jump ring could certainly be used as well. This is personal preference. And finally you could add a series of jump rings by the ends to connect the Lobster Clasp and the Large Jump Ring at the other end. This would also give you a way of adding a little lengt based on how much more length you need.

I do hope you have enjoyed this Mother's Day Project and will see you all again soon!

Hugs,

Judy

Vintage By The Sea Necklace + Scraps

Hi everybody! Kim here from My Kraft Kloset  sharing a unique piece of jewelry I made using antique brass Craft Fantastic  products and some beachy vintage scrapbooking supplies.

With warm weather approaching, who is ready to head to the beach? I know I am. So today I’ll show you how the beach inspired me to make this one-of-a-kind handmade necklace with just a few supplies and scraps.

 Let’s get started:

1.  Choose your image. I found a small sample picture from the cover page of this beachy paper collection    (as shown above with a white arrow).  I placed the square glass over the image and it appeared to be too small to fill the whole surface of the glass. So, I cut out the image to layer it with a coordinating piece of gingham patterned paper from the same collection. Surprise! Another art collage.  Look around, use what you have, be creative, and use your scraps too! One woman’s trash is another woman’s treasure.

2.  Add a few Craft Fantastic Glaze & Glue droplets onto the back of the tiny sample image and adhere to a piece of gingham patterned paper. Let dry for a minute.

3.  Then add several Craft Fantastic Glaze & Glue droplets onto the back of a glass square and glue together. Move your glass around, add a little pressure to get any bubbles out, and make sure the surface is completely covered. Hold in place for a couple minutes to set. Let dry.
4.  Once dry, use a Q-tip to remove any excess glue around the edges of the glass. Cut around the edges of the glass and cut out the image.
5.  Next I chose this antique brass square tray pendant because it has a vintage look for my image to sit in. Add a couple Fantastic Jewelers Dots to the tray pendant, peel off red backing, place your glass image into the tray, and press down. Add tray to neck chain.

6.  As you can see from my pictures I had a few fantastic charms to choose from, but in the end I selected this lovely antique heart charm. I slipped the charm onto a small jump ring and used my pliers to close and attached directly to a loop on the neck chain. And Voila! Another stunning piece of handmade jewelry that nobody but you and I know it was made from paper scraps.

I hope I’ve inspired you to try these wonderful Craft Fantastic products along with your paper crafting supplies. Because the possibilities are truly endless!  And don’t forget Mother’s Day is May 14th so think about giving this hobby a try and make a gift that is uniquely special and handmade. Please leave us a comment and let us know what you think, we’d love to hear from you. Thanks for stopping by!

Fish Extender Gifts

What is a Fish Extender you may ask?  When you sail on Disney Cruise Line each stateroom has a small silver fish or seahorse outside of the stateroom door where you receive messages, etc.  A lot of the Disney online communities started using these fish extenders to hang a homemade pocket type organizer called a "fish extender", usually Disney themed, to receive gifts from other cabins.  It's a gift exchange that happens throughout the duration of the cruise you take. You then sign up to participate in the exchange.  We have sailed 7 times on Disney Cruise Line and have participated in 4 Fish Extender gift exchanges.  I am sailing again in 2018 and have started making my gifts using old Navigators from previous cruises to obtain the images to then be used with different Craft Fantastic products.

Once I picked my images I adhered the jeweler's glass and let dry.

Here are the some of the finished Fish Extender Gifts I made:

I especially liked the look of the new Southwest tray with the Ship Logo as it reminded me a bit like a compass.  Once all my gifts are ready I package them with 3x4 pocket scrapbooking cards and put in a plastic sleeve. Here are some gifts I made from when we cruised in 2016:

I found all of the above images using scrapbook paper demonstrating how easy it is to create all kinds of gifts using Craft Fantastic trays, key rings, and neckwear.

The following Craft Fantastic items used in this post are:

medium glass rounds
large glass rounds
x large glass rounds
medium round silver pendant tray
new Southwest tray silver and antique brass
x large round silver tray
pinch bails
key rings with clips silver
30" ball chain silver and antique brass
Fantastic Sticky Dots

Create a Necklace Using Scrapbook Paper

Hello everyone!!  Kymona here from Kreative Kymona to show you how to create a necklace using scrapbook paper.

I'm a cardmaker at heart so I love that I can incorporate my scrapbook paper with my jewelry making.

Let's take a look:

This paper is so pretty and have so many different elements that would fit under the Medium Glass.  I had to use it.

I'm using the Medium Round Duo Side Charm Tray in Silver.  I love this tray.  It has TWO sides!! Yes, two sides.  So you can add two picture in one tray!!

I picked up two of the images that I loved together.  I added Fantastic Glaze & Glue to the glass and placed it on top of the images that I wanted.

Take a look at my completed necklace:

I love how this sentiment looks with this necklace.  It just fits so perfectly.  I used the Faux Leather Necklace for the neckwear.

Here is the other side of the necklace.  This side matches the sentiment side perfectly.

Take a look at this necklace from the side:

I looking at this necklace from the side. It so cool to me.

Here is what it looks like on me:

So what do you think?  Would you pull out your scrapbook paper and create a necklace? Please let me know below.  I would love to hear from you!!
